I'LL take the stairs.

Imagine living back in the day when this was the only way to go up and down in a place.  "I'll take the stairs" was not an option to have...  It was the only way to go.  Imagine the time it took to build this when there were no cranes, or other heavy duty machinery to help them.

Wow! An engineering and human-energy marvel.  I love to take the stairs but this might be pushing it!!  :-)

I'm trying to figure out what this is... but is certainly isn't good on the knees.

Engineering at its finest. We can't even begin to imagine the work-out involved!

Steve -- It would be interesting to know how they built up the bottom part to support the higher sections.  The other work that was very involved was cutting all the pieces to fit together, and come out level at the top of each part.

Steve, That is quite an engineering accomplishment!  We would all probably be better off if we were to take the stairs!

Wow!  I just finished watching a series titled, "From East to West."  It encompassed about 7 hours of viewing.  A topic of cultural, architectural, and religious civilization from about 11,000 BC to present day.  I was absolutely astonished by structures created millennia ago, with advanced technological skill, which I found unexpected.

It's truly amazing what they accomplished that many years ago without the machinery we have today.
