The Portland, Oregon home for sale inventory is really low. For 2011, RMLS reported 34,084 listings with 19,682 closed sales for an average sale of $263,000. For 2012, RMLS reported 32,300 listings, down from 2011 by 5.2%. For 2012, closed sales were 23,438, an increase of about 19% over 2011, with an average sales price of $275,000.
