Being A Rule Breaker Is Not Always Such A Bad Thing

No Fishing SignMarilyn Monroe had this great thought, "If I'd observed all the rules, I'd never have gotten anywhere." Which makes me think

Being A Rule Breaker Is Not Always Such A Bad Thing.

I have a dual nature personally, conservative naturally but marching to my own drummer. My contrarian take on the world challenges many straight laced go by the book thinkers and I tend to irritate the heck out of them. I don't let it bother me. It is who I am. I don't advocate speeding or driving through red lights or robbing banks though that is where the money is.

What I mean by rule breaking is thinking out of the box or as I like to describe free thinking, as NO BOX.

Too often people will tell you THIS is the way it is. A nanosecond later there is Gary saying, "WHY???"

The Wright brothers building that contraption in 1903 that was HEAVIER than wind were told if men were meant to fly they would have wings. Today we complain about Boeing Dreamliners still not being perfect with batteries that over heat yet it is a plane like with LUXURY on the inside that weighs hundreds of tons soaring our skies. Quite a different world when you don't lock you brain into IT CAN'T BE DONE or WE'VE ALWAYS DONE IT THIS WAY.

Think of Apple and the design of the smartphone, the iPhone. Why does a phone have to have a HARD keypad? It doesn't. Well it wouldn't look like a phone then. Yes, but we can make it look like a VIRTUAL PHONE and take the design from there, and the rest as they say is history. Think Frank Sinatra and the song, I DID IT MY WAY.... Now you know how I think, and I encourage you to BEND your mind with NO BOX as well.

In business, and in what you want in life, TRY SOME RULE BREAKING now and then, in a good way, and don't listen to everyone else how it MUST BE. They are NOT YOU. Remember you have NO BOX. You're one of those rulebreaker types. Not necessarily a bad thing!!

There are some 'Rules' that are not set in stone.  Many of they beg to be broken.

Spending so much time with my grandbabies the last three years I've seen some very creative ways they get around the rules, LOL!  As you say...not always a bad thing!  I would much rather credit them with being great thinkers than rule breakers!

I could have said that!

I do advocate! People with boxed in minds are boring.

What most people thing is rule breaking is just thinking outside of their limited box, the timid masses keep their boxes very small in the center.

Eli Maria: How did God create people with these super memories? I forgot what I ate for dinner last night LOL. I might have to get a signed confidentiality statement with you with my deep dark secrets. Oh no, did those already slip past my lips?

Bill: Boxed in minds are boring. Kind of like being on a treadmill? Definitely timid. I don't want to be timid. Push the bounds and GROW!!

Gary - this reminds me of Huck Fin when he was breaking the law by hiding Jim, but feeling guilty for breaking the law! A perfect illustration of how rules and laws aren't always right or fair and should be questioned!  You're always make us think outside the box!

Gary not everybody abides by the rule. If that was the case, this world would be a boring place. Some rules are meant to be broken. Just don't let it get you in trouble with the law. Great post.

Petra: Thanks, although I think your Lakeland people there with the Pig Fest are pretty hip and out of the box in the barbeque area. That festival so made me smile.

Paula: Annoying others, never worried about it. They are the stick in the mud types Paula.

Barb: Pushing the bounds even outside of all those social media wacky ideas to find whatever works is GREAT!!

It's not a game, it's your life.

Gary, I see how you believe that doing it a new and better way is much more important than sticking with the old. This is great.
