Since the financial crisis there have been a succession of U.S. Government-driven programs intended to mitigate the impact of the mortgage crisis on U.S. homeowners and the U.S. Economy. The programs have had names like TARP, HAMP, HAMPSM, HAFA, HARP, Deed for Lease and others.
