Today's post is something that affects all of us regardless of what part of the United States you live in. Postal Rates are changing effective January 27, 2013. This increase includes all mail classes (First Class, Priority & Express Mail) as well as special services. With a $0.01 increase the rate increase equals to what was done last year.
Changes are:
- First Class Letters increasing from $0.45 to $0.46 cents. For heavier letters the extra $0.20 per once will continue to apply.
- First Class Flats will increase from $0.90 to $0.92. For heavier flats (above 1 oz) the extra cost of $0.20 per once will continue to apply.
- Postcard rates will increase from $0.32 to $0.33 per postcard
Package being mailed have changes also:
- Small box — $5.80
- Medium box — $12.35
- Large box — $16.85
- Large APO/FPO box — $14.85
- Regular envelope — $5.60
- Legal envelope — $5.75
- Padded envelope — $5.95
