My Favorite Lunch Spots -- Metro Phoenix Arizona -- Pita Jungle
This is the second article in a series, regarding my favorite lunch spots in Metro Phoenix Arizona.
My first article featured the Miracle Mile Delicatessen and can be accessed HERE. Today, I'd like to feature another favorite restaurant -- Pita Jungle.
Pita Jungle was established in 1994, by three college friends, who wanted to create a restaurant that features food that is both fresh and healthy. They now have 15 locations in Arizona and 3 in California. I have visited a variety of the locations but usually frequent the restaurant in Gilbert Arizona (located in the southwest corner of Val Vista and Williams Field Road).
I would describe the menu as Mediterranean but there should be something to please just about everyone. I have found their food to be delicious and the portion sizes generous. To visit their website, click HERE. To review their interesting menu options, click HERE.

The Delicious "Wood-Fired Chicken" -- Pita Jungle -- Gilbert Arizona
My own personal favorite on the Pita Jungle menu is the Wood-Fired Chicken. It features a plentiful amount of marinated chicken breast, on a bed of wilted spinach and garlic herb smashed potatoes, with a light garlic tomato sauce. I personally substitute brown rice for the smashed potatoes.
Give Pita Jungle a try -- you'll be happy you did! (Note: they are also open for dinner, too!)
