When I was a kid there were cowboys shows which talked about the "Code of the West". I have seen this code put into many different phrases although the number of these rules is almost always 10. I thought that I would work these rules into some ideas for business. Although most of us if we were to think that today would be our last, work would be that last thing on our minds. So for our purpose here, let's suppose instead that is the last day that you're going to run your business.
You plan on leaving on your terms starting tomorrow, so what would you do? Would you try to do things that you are afraid to do now? Would you continue to wonder if something is going to work, so you do nothing until you have analyzed this idea to death? Would you suddenly show the boldness that you haven't shown to this point in your business. I say that it may be time to take the initiative! Now is as good as any time to try something new! Don't give up on those successful things that you are currently doing. Take the chance, go out on limb, try something completely after your comfort zone, be BOLD!
The other part of this lesson or code is to treat your loved ones like it is the last time that you will see them! Do this everyday! You may find out that you like the person that you're becoming! Several years ago Tim McGraw had a hit song with the lyrics to "live like you are dying," take chances, be bold, caring and loving! Most importantly take the lead and show some iniative and be BOLD!
