National Pie Day, January 23, 2013
Thanks to Kathleen Sheehan, I'm now aware that tomorrow is National Pie Day!! An excellent reason to get of the diet and celebrate! :-) I think I will pick up an Apple Crumb pie from Marie Callendars and serve it al la mode for desert tomorrow night. Thank you Kathleen for informing us all of the occasion that is much to sweet to pass up!

I often enjoy these types of holidays only for no other reason than that they are just fun! Now this is certainly a holiday that everyone can enjoy. After all pie of any kind is the most iconic American dessert. It is the pastry chef in me that just had to share the information about this sweet occasion. So whether you like baked fruit pies, cream pies or fresh fruit pies, tomorrow will be the day to break out the pie tin, rolling pin and your favorite ingredients and indulge in a piece of pie!
Now if baking a pie isn't in your skill set, I am sure you can stop by your local bakery and make a selection! And what better way to support your community by making a purchase at a local business.
