If you are planning to stay at the Greenbrier this weekend, January 25 and 26, you will see some amazing ice carving competition doing the day and be entertained at night.

This weekend enjoy the Third Annual Winterfest and watch some amazing ice sculptors creating images from ice during the day. In the evening, enjoy music and dancing a the Greenbrier’s Casino Club and be entertained by Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., and Lady D and MI$$ION on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. is widely known as the winner of America's Got Talent. His first album, "That's Life," debuted at #1 on the Billboard jazz charts and included many Frank Sinatra standards. You will not be disappointed with his performance as he puts his own words and soul into his music.

Lady D is known as the "First Lady of Soul." Her original song "Go Higher" was chosen as the best Obama Inaugural Song and earned her a trip with her band MI$$ION to perform at the Obama for Change Inaugural Ball in 2009! I first heard Lady D sing at the Cooper Gallery in Lewisburg and just had to buy one of her CDs. She is fabulous.

Other activities are: The Greenbrier’s 70' by 140' Ice Skating Rink. The kids, as well as the adults, will love this outdoor rink featuring state-of-the-art ice making capabilities, lights, music and a rink side fire pit.

Beside ice skating, take a carriage ride, check out the great retail stores, walk the beautiful grounds...there’s a lot to do and see... so checkout all the Greenbrier activities.

Lynn, it is 16 degrees right now...and will be a good time for the ice carvers...last year it was sunny and warm and the sculptures were breaking apart.
