Oh my gosh, I got featured on Active Rain!

I don’t know where to start other than “I got featured”.  I am # 6 in my county for Active Rank in Ranking and by my own admission I’ve been on a mission to get to # 4. Somewhere along the line it became a contest of rank # and you  forget why you’re doing it.

Yesterday, to my surprise I was a featured blog post. Yea, I hit the big time. Let the point’s roll in. May I steam roll right over those other two.

And then it hit me, that introspective moment. Why do I blog?

The fact is we can all place these posts in our own website, facebook, blogger, and the list goes on. Why do I post my blogs to Active Rain?
It’s really quite simple. I may rank well using my own site but done correctly the Active Rain post will generally rank on page 1 for a given topic and bring viewers and leads. Yep, I said it….viewers and leads. It’s might actually be less work to get my post to rank on page 1 through Active Rain than my own site. And should my site rank on page one for the same topic then I end up with two entries on page 1.

So this brings me to the point. Since I know that Active Rain can rank well and bring me viewers and leads, what am I going to write about?

I think the blog with the most impact in terms of eyeballs and potential viewers would have to be a community overview.

Congrats on the feature. Features are a nice recognition of quality...and points represent one's efforts. And  both are nice - especially the feature!
