Porter Barn Wood - Arizona's Best Source for Quality Reclaimed Materials

In the last two years a local business, Porter Barn Wood,  has been gaining traction selling old barn wood.  Thomas Porter founded Porter Barn Wood LLC in 2010 and has been selling VERY OLD barn wood to restaurants and local businesses.  He has some awesome creations pictured here on his website.

Reading this article in the Arizona Republic, I felt this company worth a mention, given the use of reclaimed barn wood.  Apparently others think so too as his idea is gaining popularity.  His method of selling Porter Barn Wood is more unorthodox as he’ll let them know when he has inventory and they’ll decide what they’ll use it for.  Sounds a little like, “Build it and they’ll come!”

If you’re interested in learning more, contact him here.  Best of luck to Thomas in his new endeavor!

And of course if you're interested in buying or selling homes in the Scottsdale Area, give me a call!

Reclaimed barn wood is a big deal in many areas Jan. They don't make wood like that any more.

Hi Jan -- excellent to give Porter Barn Wood -- supporting local and small business helps our communities and when they have a green aspect along with providing a nice aesthetic so much the better.

Tom - You're right. Check out his website and you'll see a term "mushroom wood" that I've never seen before.

Michael - Local, sustainable businesses are part of my business model.  Anyway choosing to use sustainable products is in my radar!  Thanks for commenting.

I really like using old barn wood for my birdhouses.  Great local information, Jan.
