Gutters installed, now what?

Gutters installed, now what?

The next step after installing the gutters onto the home is to install the down spouts.

This is where there are issues with the homes installation of the gutters down spouts.

I think they had a call made to the "infamous Uncle Bob" to finish the job.

Let's take a look at the install or not installed gutter down spouts.

This angling down spout has no rhyme or reason.

Angling down spout.

The next shot is of a down spout that was too long. It had to be secured some how.

Rope tying up down spout.

If the down spout is too long, then cut it off.

Here we have a down spout that's simply a mess.

Down spout too long again.

This down spout was simply too long and never cut off to fit the home. C'mon.

Uncle Bob has been busy after returning from Rogers Arkansas. Thanks James Dray.

Have a great day every one.

Clint: That just looks like plain old laziness to me and really does look like an eyesore to anyone driving by or visiting.

Creativity abounds!  Who says schools aren't teaching creativity these days!  We wonder - was that all because of the same downspout engineer?

Your commenters are tsalking about creativity, which I do appreciate, being in a hurry, or lazy, or not caring enough to do it right - these are more likley the sources of inspiration at play.

Clint, Love the roping also. Are you like me that gutters are an option on most homes?

As a Scoutmaster I can reasonably say that the rope job up there is schmuck work!  I would have preferred to see a taut line.  It can be loosened or tightened depending on weather, but will always control the downspout.

Well Clint they called him and asked that he do the job without damaging anything and be cheap about it.  Although I don't agree with what he done the cost was effective.  :~)

Hi Gary,

I don't think there was any mechanical engineering degree here. They need to leave the thinking to someone else.

Thanks for the comment and have a very good day.

Hi Fred,

This is very true. But we have not had enough rain in the last two years to even have a roof let alone water catches for rain runoff. LOL

Have a good day inspecting in Tampa .

Hi James,

Rope wires tape. The saga never ends. Uncle Bob needs to find another profession to get into.

Have a great day in Connecticut.

Hi Adrian,

I love "creativity". Just not on the homes I get to inspect for a buyer. Let the owners be the culprits. Let's not hire Uncle Bob to do it for us.

Have a great day in Seattle my friend.

Hi Anita,

Yep, yep, Yep. Did I say Yep? I see this from time to time. Even a six year old could have done a better job.

Have a good day in Warner Robins.

Hi Jay,

I think so.....Better go back and find out if the class is still offered and see if it has the same teacher as well. If so time to change things up a bit.

Have a great weekend in Bristow my friend.

Hi Robert,

So very true. I really don't think the installer has a cut off saw or a hack saw to help out with the job. thus the creativity.

Have a good weekend in Montreal.

Hi Donald,

Yes....Gutters are mostly an option on most all homes here. If the home has gutters they are probably installed incorrectly from all the Uncle bob's in the world. That keeps us very busy.

Have a great day and weekend my friend in the Great Northwest.

Hi James,

And boy did they get the cheap job. LOL You have to love how he saved them money from the get go. But now they are in a lot of trouble for doing just that. Plus all the MOOLA it's going to cost to fix the mess.

Have a great weekend in Rogers my friend.
