Real Estate Agent with Exp Realty - Atlantic County

SEO For RealtorsMy last list gathered such rave reviews, I thought I would share another one. I was a little reluctant but I’m sure that by the time the post has run its course I’ll have gained more than I’ve given.

SEO for the rest of us.Unlike the top 5 or even some strong local’s we don’t have the time or resources to do SEO all day every day, after all we need to sell real estate. What the internet players have on us is that their sites tend to level the peaks and valleys. While they’re out showing someone else is online viewing homes for sale on their site.

Why we can’t beat the big boys?Currently search engines reward content and sites like Realtor.com have all the listings from one end of the country to the other, massive content and an even greater # of backlinks. Google rewards this.

Why we don’t need to?   Our real estate market is or at least it should be hyper-local. If you live in New Jersey you don’t really need to worry about SEO in Seattle. Having a listing is a license to push your way to the top! Realtor.com would never think about doing all the things listed below to one listing. It’s not time productive for them. At best they’ll sell one more ad. You on the other hand will sell a home and get another listing. It is time productive for you to support the living C*X$# out of your listings. Not only will your seller love you and give you referrals but you will get found on the internet.

You strategy- All the items below create a page, a long tail, a portal for a buyer or seller to get to you. They can stand on their own or they can lead the prospect back to your site. My personal goal is to create a doorway to my site. If you don’t know how to hyperlink –learn. If you don’t have a site and you’re doing any kind of volume consider one.

I am 7 months into a new market area and I have all most 10,000 pages published. Each page is a doorway to you. But mostly, the take a way from this is that you don’t have to be a techie to get found, but when you do have a listing you need to promote the daylight out of it. The sites below are pretty low tech, and you’ll be surprised at your results.

I am not sure I could do all this and sell real estate too...I would stress if I had this checklist for every listing. We do some of these of course, some I have never heard of. Yikes!
