Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO? If you live in this wonderful, small mountain town on Colorado's Western Slope, that's an easy question. But today most people are hard pressed to find Cedaredge, CO...even the locals.

Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO?

I took this picture this morning from about the middle of Cedar Mesa Hill. Normally this is a great spot to overlook the town and surrounding valley, but not today.

Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO?

This picture was taken about two weeks ago from almost the same spot in the road. You can see the fence posts in both pictures, and you can see Cedaredge.

Today is a foggy day and there's no sign of it lifting, but the gray skies are bringing some much needed moisture to The Surface Creek Area and other parts of Delta County, Colorado.

Travel safe out there. The roads are slippery.

I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 23 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a real estate broker, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.

I definately like the before picture. When I was in Montana I learned how important snow and moisture is to the west. It is bitter cold here again today, -2 this morning and up to 17 now. 2 more days then heat coming in (32)

Hi Debbie - It's way too dry for comfort so far this winter. We're already having some early wildfires and conditions are ripe for more - very unusual this early in the year. And I haven't shoveled snow even once so far this year.

Debbie as much as I hate the snow and sub-freezing temperatures I worry when we don't have enough of it. Las year was mild, almost no snow. Then when summer hit it was so dry, water tables were low, heat was high. We had a heck of a time growing the garden and keeping the horses comfortable.

Stay warm and safe my friend...I hear we're half way through to spring!

Hi, Dick...I have to agree with you. We, at my office, are watching the snowpack levels very closely. One of our agents is very involved with the different water resource agencies in our area, so I have an 'in' on the current and most up to date information. The up to date information is that we need as much snow as we can get. We are trying to catch up from the large deficit created by last summer's drought. Our reservoirs are low, low, low.

Hi, Suesan...last summer's hot temps and lack of rain killed us, too. We have so much catching up to do, that we have to have a record snowfall year to make up for it. So far it's not looking like we will get that. Last year's snowpack levels were at historic lows.

What a great idea, Debbie - love the contrasting photos.  Of course,  I prefer the second photo - the reason I moved from Chicago, LOL.

So far so good today, Joan. No accidents for me, and I even had to go to Delta. Now I'm home and I plan to stay there until the roads are in better condition. So there will probably be no sled dog racing for me tomorrow. Plus who wants to stand around at 10,000 feet in a snowstorm? WARNING: This weather might be coming your way.

Debbie, Be safe and warm.  That is my advice to all my friends.  It seems no matter where we live weather plays a major factor in our comfort and safety.  Earlier this week Erie, PA had two feet of snow along with frigid conditons and white outs.  Yes, we need the snow to ease the drought which is not as bad as some parts of the country.

Love Joan's recommendation of you.  Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie,

Thanks for sharing those two photographs with us.  Your title is perfect!  Where IS Cedaredge? You sure can't see it in that picture.  I'm sorry that you had to get out in that weather.  Stay safe and warm.

That is certainly odd, Debbie.  but fog can do some pretty weird things.  I have seen things in the fog that I don't normally see....weird.
