Speechless Sunday Newsmuseum in Washington DC

By
Industry Observer

I was in Washington DC last week for a very short trip. I will write another blog about the purpose of my trip. We went to the Newsmuseum in DC. It is one of the best museums. I have ever been to and I have been to more than my share of museums.

There is a section of the Berlin Wall as shown here:

They also have the infamous Watergate Door, the lunch counter that started the Civil Rights movement, numerous cartoons. Within the museum there are live studios .Here is a shot from the one which George Stephanopoulos on ABC uses with the Capitol behind him.

They also have a 9/11 exhibit which houses the broadcast antenna which stood atop the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The exhibit is terrific it brought tears to my eyes remembering all that lost their lives and how our lives were changed forever.

There is an exhibit on the FBI how they on G-men and how they fought terrorism before and after 9/11. One on Presidential campaigns; there are many theatres to see different clips.

I could go on and on but you need to go see if for yourself!

Very cool! I managed the Spy Museum last year, and will be back for NAR in May this year, so I'll see if I can check this out!

That has to be a very interesting museum to visit.  I suspect it is loaded with items not normally seen elsewhere.  The "Watergate Door" would have a certain lure about it.  I can remember the Watergate era as being the first significant political scandal of my generation.

Sounds really interesting! I love the colors in the section of the Berlin wall... I remember see that come down on TV as it happened. Did you know the wall came down partly because of Rock-N-Roll music?

Hi Yolanda,

That sounds like a terrific museum and next time I am there, I will go visit. I have been to 2 or 3 in Washington DC but it was a while ago; around 1996. I need another trip to DC soon.
