The community of Shippan is a wonderful waterfront community of apartments, condominiums and single family homes that sit conveniently just South of downtown Stamford. Through the tree lined streets it's not uncommon to see families walking and children playing during the summer or sledding down the hills of the community's park which frames the entrance to Shippan Point in the winter.
It's an oasis from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet only minutes away from Interstate 95 and the Stamford Train Station where the Metro-North Line can get you to New York's Grand Central Station on an express train in 45 minutes.

What's the Neighborhood Like?
The single family homes you would expect to find for sale in the waterfront Shippan Point neighborhood are generally going to range between 1,000-8,500 square feet. Most of the homes were originally built in the 1920's. The area also houses the Stamford Yacht Club which was founded in 1890 and the Halloween Yacht Club. It's a type of community where the homes are known for the families that have lived in them. Many residents move from house to house within the neighborhood, this movement is lovingly called the "Shippan Shuffle". There are about 8,200 residents in the neighborhood of mostly single family homes. But there are also condominiums for sale with docks available in this waterfront community.
What's Going on Nearby the Shippan Neighborhood?

Many of Shippan's children attend Stamford Public schools and are served by Toquam Elementary and Rogers International Bacclaurette Elementary School (goes through the eight grade), Rippowam Middle School and Stamford High School.
