Nobody Wants To Hear I Told You So!!

By
Real Estate Agent with At Home Kansas BR00225772

Nobody Wants To Hear I Told You So!!  Sometimes REALTORS have to tell buyers of homes for sale in Lawrence Kansas that they 1) Better not sleep on it, 2) Better not wait and see what else comes along, and 3) Better not request a second showing in today's market.

All too often though, buyers fail to listen to the warning and end up not getting the house they really wanted because they chose one or more of the options mentioned above.

I know "Nobody Wants To Hear I Told You So!!" so I don't say it even though it really needs to be said.

Lawrence Kansas Real Estate inventory keeps declining and buyers' selections are limited.

Also, buyers have started noticing that the once low rates of 3%, 3 1/8%, and even 3 1/4% are gone and we are now starting to see 3.625%.  While 3.625% is still a fantastic rate, buyers don't like it when they find out they missed the low 3% rates.  Again, Nobody Wants To Hear I Told You So!! but I have been telling buyers for quite a while, those low 3% rates were going away.

So listen to what your REALTOR has to say.  We keep track of interest rates and the number of houses for sale available and are looking out for your best interest.  Call Rob Lang, At Home Kansas, 785-393-2274 so he can let you know what is happening in the Lawrence Kansas housing market.

You can't change human nature. Resistance is a defense mechanism we all have when we don't completely understand n issue that will have long term effects on us. Usually, the newspapers run articles on real estate market changes and when the readers see it in print or on the news channels, thy begin to catch on to the fact that what you have told them is the truth. Guess it is one of the curses of being in sales!

Rob, you have nailed this one. Many buyers are scrambling now to find homes that fit their search criteria, and with fewer homes available, many end up in multiple offers.

I've been working with some buyers for a while now. We are finally under contract and going to close on a home for them soon. But they had to lose 3 homes before they realized that what I was saying was correct.

Thanks Debbie, Carol, Valerie, Norman, and Jordon for your comments. There is strength in numbers and if the buyers see all these comments, maybe they will listen and not have to lose houses that they really wanted!

Rob, Buyers don't like hearing that statement and think it is sales talk. I to don't say it but encourage them in other ways.
