Camas First Friday in February - A Chocolate and Wine Affair

By

Camas - First Friday in February- " A Chocolate and Wine Affair."

Chocolate and Wine Affair to RememberI've been having an affair for years. It started with the first temptation of warm chocolate chip cookies (with a glass of cold milk). My desire escalated to Reeses peanut butter cups in my teens, to dark chocolate as I matured.  Admittedly, today I have a strong desire for addiction to "chocolate."

February's First Friday in Downtown Camas ( Feb 1, 2013) is the perfect event for me ( and others like me). " A Chocolate Affair to Remember," features designer and local chocolates showcased throughout the charming downtown area. Plus, there's Artwalk, dining and after-hours shopping from 5-8PM.

Romance goes well with Chocolate at this month's First Friday in Camas.

Perhaps all that delicious chocolate will prompt you to take part in some early gift shopping for your Valentine. After all, the charming shops in Downtown Camas offer a variety of special finds you don't normally see in the big box stores. Naturally, as you shop, you'll be sampling delicious chocolates too.

Wine and ChocolateIn fact, select locations will offer wine tastings along with the chocolate delights. Each participating merchant will also have a jar of Valentine's candy and you get to guess the amount  to win the candy! All guesses will be entered into a drawing for a Valentine themed basket. ( You don't have to be present to win)

Plus, Navida's is hosting a S'mores Roast in the street in front of their shop at 322 NE Cedar.  There's a rumor that the Camas Fire Department will have a truck nearby for the kids to climb on.  And there's even a "Have a Heart" mini sidewalk concert featuring GraceLyricMusic.

Chocolate and Wine Affair to RememberHere are a few more highlights of this year's  Chocolate and Wine Affair in Downtown Camas on February 1st, 2013.

Caffe Piccolo, 309 NE Birch, is hosting Truly Scrumptious treats and selling Choffey, which is distinctively flavorful ground cocoa beans prepared in a French Press

Moonstruck Chocolate at Lizzabeth A

Wine and Chocolate Popcorn at Ballard and Call NW Art Gallery

Red Hair Extensions, Red Hair Tinsel, and Red Glowbys and Color Rubs at Wild Hair

Chocolate Martinis at Harvest Restaurant

Hope to see you at the First Friday in Downtown Camas. It promises to be a  Chocolate and Wine Affair to remember!

Sure you had to tease me Debb.  I was behaving myself and then I saw CHOCOLATE.  Argh.  The cravings are building stronger and stronger as I read your blog.  I bet there will be lots of women at this event.

Camas sounds like a really cool community with fantastic events. One just doesn't get this community atmosphere in big cities. Thanks for setting the stage for fun times. This is what communities need to be involved in.... and they are lucky to have an involved REALTOR that shares and is so involved in their community. Really hope you do one of your famous videos about these events. Chocolate may not be really photogenic  (sp?) by itself, but I'll bet there will be lots of smiles to catch and ooozing marshmallow messes from the S'mores...... not to mention the crowd enjoying chocolate... MARTINIS???   Chocolate CHEERS!

Over?  Never my dear, it's just that I'm not a big chocolate fan, so I'll give you my share of chocolate, but not my share of wine.  I can't think of anyone I like that much................;~)

Hi Debb - Good chocolate and red wine are a great combination. That's about all the excuse I'd need to spend the evening in downtown Camas having a fun first Friday.

Debb,

Nice to hear from you, and it is good to know you are a confirmed chocoholic.  My grandfather used to keep chocolate in his desk drawer (the dark kind 85% cacao), and he used to give me a piece on a daily basis.  Oh and red wine diluted with water was perfectly acceptable in Europe for a little kid to have...in my home at this moment, there are brownies in the refrigerator, 3 bars of Valhona (85%), and an empty carton of Rory's "Sinfully Dark" chocolate ice cream....A

Mel - and we'd have to drag our lake dwelling friend with us. :) Hope to catch up with ya soon.

Hi there Debbie - thanks much. You are a busy lady with all your contests. Wow.

Belinda - it worked then?  Ha ha.

Brad - you are too kind. Thanks again for the time and support. You are a good AR pal. The event on video will depend on the  weather. This time of year in the great Pacific Northwest can make for dark, and gloomy video. Even with the martinis.  :)

Haha Roger - completely understand about the wine. :)

Gayle, it's an event with our names on it. WOuld love to be at the lake drinking good coffee, wine and a nibbling on a bit of chocolate. Soon perhaps.

Adrian - yep Februrary does conjur up the image of wine and chocolate. I'l be visting you soon.

Dick - you'd drink the wine. Mary and I would be scarfing up the chocolate (and wine).

Dark chocolate and a nice glass of red wine is a winning combination for Friday night.

Have a great day.  Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments when you are out and about in your community and during your travels.

Kris - great to see you. I'll have to check the emails. I had a great time surrounded by family chaos. Kids and grandkids were all here. Couldn't have asked for more. ( I know you love chocolate too)

Hi Roy - and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday...Lol.

Joan - it does sound romantic when you put it that way. :)
