The cost of a one cent stamp

By
Real Estate Agent with Falcon Property Solutions

stampThe recent increase by the Post Office is a great opportunity for you to stay in front of your clients. Has it been a while since you made contact? This is a golden opportunity for you to touch base and bring you front and center to their minds.

This is simple, and easy for you to print on an 8.5" x 11" standard piece of paper. I use a quarter-fold template and just write something simple. Here is what I have used several times with great success.

FRONT OF CARD: One of my logos and then I type: "As you know, the U. S. Postal Service recently increased the cost of a first class stamp from 45 cents to 46 cents, and the cost of mailing a postcard from 32 cents to 33 cents.

Have you ever considered the actual financial impact of the one cent increase to our American economy? It's pretty staggering . . ."

INSIDE RIGHT: "Let's assume 10 million Americans make a special trip to purchase one cent stamps, taking an average of 30 minutes round trip for the errand. Let's also assume the average hourly value of their time is $12.00 per hour.

Using this projection, the cost and time value of 10 million Americans buying one cent stamps is SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS! WOW . . . and that doesn't even include the expense of the stamps or the gas!

We hope this simple gesture of sending you ten - one cent stamps has saved you a little time and money.

Best wishes to you for the rest of 2013."

INSIDE LEFT: Warmest Regards, Mimi Foster For easy access to the MLS, please visit our website at www.MimiFoster.com.

BACK OF CARD: My logo

You can purchase standard A-2 sized envelopes. I hand address them and include the stamps and my business card tucked inside the folds. Please feel free to use this as your own (you can change the name). LOL

Hi Mimi, It is staggering when you really get into the way you quantified this. I love electronic greeting crads but I can't express what the real deal means to people. Especially if the card is not just signed  but a personal note is added. Whatever the mailing costs, the importance of real mail can be priceless. Loved you post!

Mimi, couple of years ago, thanks to my coaching with Brian Buffini, I had sent differential amount stamps to few of my clients - and they still remember that! Yes, one of the best and easiest (and perhaps not so costly) way to stay in front of your clients!

And the cost of sending out that letter is all of about 60 cents, including the stamps (inside and out) and will make a huge difference in how people interact with you. Great job and I may just have to steal this idea!

Hi Mimi-  I see several people have re-posted this blog and had to stop by and comment.  You really did some thinking outside the box on this one.  Who would have thought of this?  Pretty creative.  Keep up the creative marketing and best of luck to you in 2013.

Mimi, I love the fresh approach of being infront of the clients and mailing the stamp. My concern is most of us buy forever stamps...don't know how many will actually use this.

Mimi,  This is a great idea.  Ummmm,  I did not even realize the stamps went up recently.  :) So how many others did not realize it also.  What a way of contributing value to our clients.  Have a wonderful day.!!

Great reminder.  I used to do this and it was always favorably received.  Then when the post office came out with Forever Stamps, I quit.  Should not have done that.  Sometimes I just get in my own way too much.  Thanks.

Mimi  I'm sorry for using this blog but my email is down and I know you don't want to 'talk'.  The Foster's think we are doing something this weekend and I told them next weekend.  They will be out of town.  Text me: 719 371-3753  I would have mailed you but no one sent me any stamps!  Great blog idea
