If you SOLD a few years ago, you will never get it back!

Not talking about  homes.

I am talking about stocks.  I remember the hype when the market fell. 

SELL before it is ll gone.  You will never get it back!"

Many people fell for this scare and people sold and people lost.  It has been a long road.   But as I look at my investments I find that I am back to where I was when things went south and I have not added to the funds lately.

If as a nation, if we would stop listening to the dooms dayers, we would be much better off.

Let me re-phrase that.  If we would stop listening to the dooms dayers we would be better off, except for those who prey on the scared.  They have made millions and billions.

I just wish that I would have had the money to invest when things went down!

William, buying high and selling know will never allow one to accumulate wealth. For those people that sold, it wasn't going to be a loss until they sold, until then it was just a ride an a stock coaster

Well NASDAQ is not back beyond 14 years so I am not a big believer in the stock market as this great investment.

yup. Same thing with real estate. We took a huge hit here from 2006-2010   BUT many of those that were able to hold on are almost back in the black.

I think that is Bills point here...if you sold low you did lose.  Those that held tight are back close to where they started...depending on the stock invested in of course.

I don't do anything in the stock market, but I know on the farm you try to buy low and sell high.  I don't see where the market would be any different.

In today's information age I can see how people could manipulate the system some.
