Relocating to Houston?
Want to move to Houston, Texas but don’t know what is like? Well here is a quick mental tour. I’ve lived in Houston awhile. Houston is a “melting pot” of exciting cultures. Every neighborhood changes in scenery and different atmospheres. The people you meet on the street are friendly welcoming general.
Houston has been #1 in the US for relocating families to a major city for the last 3 years. There are miles of open land; It’s seems to take at least 20 minutes or more to get anywhere. Try driving the any of our two loops, another in the making. H-town is located along the bayou and has peaceful landscape where you can drive for hours on a peaceful Sunday (Just not Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm).
Housing
The rental market is stable compared to most other cities. There are over 5,800 apartment complexes in and around surrounding areas they average 89% occupancy at any given time. Not only has housing remained comparatively stable through the last 5 years but great deals on investment properties continue to drive the resale market for rental properties. Single family homes continue to be great investments and their value recovers steadily.
Lifestyle
If you like sports, this city has it all in both men and women’s sports. Our Texans had a nice run the last two years. I look for better things with them. There are No ladies football teams yet for our city, hope next year seems to be in the making. Basketball is too up and down emotionally for me so I'll say... Go Rockets & Comets. Soccer - Dynamos and many more team on all levels. Also, Houston’s Medical Center is the largest in the world.
The climate here is forever changing. You may wake up on a February morning with a cool breeze and warm weather, by 1 o'clock it's storming and looks like it about to flood; then by 7 pm it's cold, and 9 humid. Experience all climates (No Earthquakes or Monsoons yet). I love living here and wouldn't change it for anything.
