Ah, Winter. There's really nothing like it if you are a cold-climate Realtor. While those hearty buyers and sellers who are in the game this time of year tend to be a bit more serious, that never really seems to make up for the general lack of business, as compared to Spring, Summer and Fall.

This is the season of reflection, taxes, considering your future with your company and finding new and exciting ways to spend your money on real estate stuff. After all, you have to at least appear like you are keeping busy, right?

Today, I want to focus on "stuff." I konw all about real estate stuff. I've made good decisions on how to invest in my business, and some decisions that didn't turn out so well. Here is just a sampling of the stuff I've bought over my 10-plus years in the biz, with varying degress of success:

You get the idea. There is an entire cottage industry that has grown up around separating Realtors from their money. This is the time of year that I typically look around for new stuff. And I have been, at times, too willing a participant. Don't ge me wrong, some of what's on that list (and I could probably think of more, were I so inclined) is really good. Others... not so much.

How about sharing the good, the bad and the ugly of what you've bought (or bought into) over the years? It can informative to see what has worked for others. It's also good just to vent a little.

I paid a lot for Top Producer about 10 years ago and never used it.  Sigh.

Ahh, but it's now spring and feeling the need to try new "stuff" to bring my business to the next level.  I'm considering Sharper Agent.  Care to share your experience?

Lucille- I do like Sharper Agent. Tons of email campaigns, a good newsletter and easy-to-create print and direct mail material. You can use theirs or create your own. Has a CRM built into it. I think they still have a 30-day trial (not sure), so it may be worthwhile to check it out.
