SELLERS, if you are thinking about putting your home on the market this spring you might want to move up your schedule and list it now. With few homes coming on the market, post- holiday competition was intense for the few new listings in January and inventory is still less than 100 homes. We are back to multiple offers on well-priced properties and escalation clauses being used in offers to compete against the other buyer. This is all being driven by the low inventory and scarcity of homes that are priced at compelling prices. The $700,000 to $999,000 is extremely busy with 8 homes under contract in the month of Jan. After six years we may finally see some appreciation on home values.
