Last night I was at a Shiva Call.  While we were gathering around the table, a person, we will call Bill was debating about whether or not he should eat a piece of lemon cake.  The reason why he was debating about eating the cake is because he is diabetic and he should watch what he eats.  Now let me mention that this piece of cake was about ¾ of an inch wide by about 3 inches long. Bill went on about 10 minutes about whether or not he should eat the cake.   I told him just to eat the cake.  I also mentioned how in the past my wife was diagnosed borderline diabetic, and she did not want to take pills or shots.  My wife went on the south beach diet and she is no longer borderline diabetic.  So I proceed to mention to Bill about how the south beach diet really solved my wife’s problem.

Bill proceeded to talk about all the medication he is on.  What really floored me, and reason for this blog, was Bill said his doctor said it would be OK for him to go to a Speedway gas station and have two hot dogs and a diet coke for lunch.  So today I went on the Speedway website and looked up Jumbo Hot Dog Nutrition Facts.  I could not believe what I read, and neither will you.

Now I happen to know a good friend of Bill so I just sent him the Jumbo Hot Dog Nutrition Facts so he could have a friendly discussion with Bill.  I hope if someone is either borderline diabetic or diabetic, they take a good look at what they eat and how it affects their health.

Wishing everyone a healthy 2013.  If 2013 involves selling your house, or buying a new home please contact me at Key Realty. You can call or text me at 419-346-1458.  You can also visit my website at BertSellsToledoHomes.com.
