I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and chef at Wood Stone while dining there last week. Not only was the food amazing, the family was amazing as well. The entire staff is like one big happy family wich makes for a most pleasant experience. I learned that the owners and chef have very diverse backgrounds living in such places as London, Iran and Hong Kong. The love of food and the need for great Mediterranian and Italian food in Columbus is what made the owners decide to open Wood Stone. The restaurant recently moved from Veterans Parkway to a better location on Whitesville Road.
The menu offers a variety of dishes from pizza and pasta to steak and lamb. The bread is made fresh daily and is accompanied by a delicious herbed oil and sprinkles of parmesan cheese. The manager, Natalie suggested the Baked Penne Al Forno. It is served with either blush or pesto sauce with a choice of chicken, beef or sausage and topped with mozzerella cheese. I had the chicken and blush sauce. All I can say is WOW! It was divine.
The restaurant is clean and cozy with authentic music playing softly in the background. The staff is courteous and professional making it a wonderful dining experience. I can't wait to take my family back for some of their famous pizza.
