Have you ever wondered how Realtors get paid? This has been a mystery to the general public for a long time. I hope this information will be helpful to you in buying your next home. It is also very important to pick one agent and have them work for you.
So here it is: The Realtors only get paid if they are the agent representing you to buy or sell a home. A typical buyers agent commission is 2.5 of the purchase price. This may seem like a lot but then their broker takes a cut (usually 40-50%). Then we have to pay all our expenses for taxes, gas for driving our clients around, advertising, MLS fees and many other things.
For example: Say you are purchasing a home for $100,000. The gross commission would be $2500. Next we split it with our broker so we $1250. After that we have to pay all our taxes, fees and etc.
Please Read This:
Important notice, PICK ONE REALTOR and have them help you through the transaction. They can show you any property that is currently listed in the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). What this means is they can show you properties listed by any other realtor.
I would love to be your REALTOR and help you through this process, but I think it is only fair to let you know I do not get paid if you do not buy a house through me.
I hope this helps you understand how Realtors get paid and we love helping people. We all have families and need to provide for them just like you.
If you have more questions on how I can help you I am available.
PS Don't forget I can show you any home that are on the MLS.
Thanks,
Tanya Jones
