Over the last several years there has been an onslaught of real estate infomercial gurus peddling a dream of financial security. "Gurus" like Carlton Sheets, Dave Lindahl, Ron LeGrand and Armando Montelongo. And while it is true that nothing has created more millionaires than real estate, the materials most of these gurus are scalping will not likely put you among the wealthy. In fact, most are designed to only make the infomercial guru wealthy - at your expense.
Before investing even one penny intoany hype put forth by any guru, do your homework. The first thing you shpould do is check their rating at the Better Business Bureau. This will tell you a lot about the business, and unlike the internet "gripe sites", the info at the BBB has been vetted and verified. Gripe sites, on the other hand, will allow anyone to post anything, whether or not it is true. So, I would advise taking gripe sites with a grain of salt.
Also beware of the phony gripe sites - for example, Dean Graziosi has many sites that are designed to look like complaint sites and "reviews" about him, and they all put him in a good light with phony "letters". Meanwhile, he sues everyone else who tries to put up REAL reviews. You do not want to do business with someone like that, do you?
And the Armando Montelongo companies (there are several) all have a "D" or "D-" rating with the BBB. That is truly worth considering before investing in his program. One of his companies, Armando Montelongo Seminars is rated so badly that, were I him, I would work diligently to improve that status.
This same story is often repeated with the other gurus (insert name) with few variations. With one notable exception - "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate" offered by a Christian non-profit, IntellliBiz, is very, very different. First, it has maintained an "A+" rating at the BBB for over 20 years. In addition, it is extremely low cost (under $50 complete) and that includes everything - no expensive add-ons designed to drain your bank accout. In fact, they even provide FREE, lifetime real estate coaching by actual investors who volunteer their services to assist in your success. If investing in real estate is a dream of yours, this course can help make that dream come true.
