Vail Prepares For The 2013 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships
After 30 years in Vermont, The Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships have found a new home in Vail, Colorado. Through February 25th to March 3rd, 2013, the event will be at Vail on Golden Peak.
"We wanted a place that has the amenities, the facilities and the passion to take not just the contest but the whole experience to the next level," Greg Dacyshyn, Chief Creative Officer At Burton said. "Everything about this event will be driven by the riders and it's going to be great. It's going to be 'fasten your seatbelts' for everyone who comes."
Spectators are in for a treat with over 100 of the world's best riders competing and free concerts throughout the week. Among the athletes will be Shaun White, Jamie Anderson, Torah Bright, Kelly Clark, Ty Walker, Gretchen Bleiler and more. The fun week will be filled with Halfpipe, Slopestyle, FREE Concerts, and fun competitions with over $340,000 in cash prizes to be handed out.
