Greek Festival in Hernando County
It's back! Christ the Savior Greek Orthodox Church is hosting the third annual Greek Festival coming weekend at the Fairgrounds in Brooksville, Florida.
If you love Greek food, Greek dancing, Greek pastries, and Greek music this will be an event you don't want to miss!
The Greek Festival is enjoying growing popularity every year. We attended last year for the first time and had a great time. In particular, we enjoyed the many traditional folk dance performances.
Free Dance Lessons!
Bring your dancing shoes because there will be free dancing lessons offered during the festival but even without you should be able to follow along with the steps of the traditional Greek line dances. And if you are really adventurous, you might participate in belly dancing! Live entertainment will be by Demetri of Demetri and the Islanders Band.
Aside from the Church, proceeds of the two-day event will benefit local hospice and the Shriners. There will be door prizes and the event promises to be fun for everyone. Children activities include a bounce house, balloon art, face painting, and a game area.
Insider Tips
The festival will take place indoors at the Fairgrounds in Brooksville, Florida. Be prepared, there will be large crowds and there will be long tables set up --- don't be shy to sit with friends you have not yet met. Bring cash for food and beverage purchases or raffle tickets. There will also be some vendor tables with typical Greek merchandise.
Most of all enjoy and have fun!
