The overall goal of the The MMP is to ensure that our active and non-active service men and women have a door to established, affordable housing opportunities. The MMP program offers a selection of very low interest, several anchored mortgage loan options with a down payment and closing cost assistance, primarily aimed for first time home buyers. If you are purchasing a home in a targeted area, you don’t need to be a first time home buyer. For example, a service women or man buying a home today in the state of Maryland that is valued at $250,000 would save a total of $840 a year in mortgage payments. This is a HUGE savings for first time home buyers using this program!
There are additional perks as well! If you are eligible, you have the opportunity to receive up to $10,000 to assist you in your down payment and closing cost too. This impressive program is offered to any and all active or non-active service member residing in the state of Maryland.This program opened its doors on 7-3-2012 and will close on 6-30-2013 or until the $50 million provided to The MMP has been completely used.
