The thrill of incredibly sane buyers!

Buyers get a great deal in Indian Wells, CaliforniaI received a phone call last week from a woman in Québec who was looking for a vacation home for her family here in the Palm Springs Valley.  She told me she was interviewing agents because she believes in loyalty and wanted to work with only one agent.  I liked her already!  After speaking for about an hour, she told me that she liked me, liked my information, and felt that I knew what I was talking about and I knew the area very well but… She would let me know in a few days.

She did. She called me and told me that you chosen me!  I found out later that basically the reason she chose me was because I was honest with her about the areas she should consider for her price point,  and did not necessarily tell her what she wanted to hear.  She shared with me later, that one of the agents insisted she should be looking in a particular area of Palm Springs that would not have suited her at all.  She actually told the agent this, but this agent continued to send her listings in that area. It turned her off.

She did indeed come to the desert,  has spent the past four days with me, wrote an offer last night and we got it accepted this morning.  The best part?  They are buying in the city of Indian Wells which is a city she had crossed off of her list , believing that it was too expensive.  I knew differently. it's the perfect house, in the perfect neighborhood,  and they got a great buy. Once they had made their decision, I was basically told to put a fair offer together that would close the deal.  They relied on me, trusted me, and I of course felt very protective towards them.  They got a good deal, not a steal, because as I explained to them from the beginning, there are still plenty of good deals in the Palm Springs Valley, but you're not going to steal anything… So don't lowball.

Sometimes I think agents talk themselves right out of a job.  I don't like the hard sell, it makes me uncomfortable.. let your experience and expertise talk for you-that's my belief at any rate!

I don't believe I will get every single job, but I do believe that the clients that choose me do so with thought. There is nothing more satisfying for me as a realtor then matching the perfect client to the perfect property!

One of the things that agents seem to do less and less is listen to what the buyer is telling you. Apparently you do. Congratulations!
