Do you know what the name of the blizzard of 2013 is?

Nemo! As per the weather channel; naming a storm creates awareness, attaching a name makes it easier to follow the weather systems progress, and a named storm makes it easier to remember and refer to in the future.

Time to break out the Shovels and the Salt! New York City’s Blizzard Nemo is coming and leaving a foot or more of snow!

Ways to prepare for blizzard Nemo!

1. Keep a bag of warm clothing & blankets handy just in case power outages occur.

2. Make sure to pay attention to your local weather newscasts.

3. Keep several flashlights, batteries, candles and lighter's on hand.

4.Charge all cell phones and laptops.

5.Stock up on nonperishable foods.

6.Stock up on bottle water.

7.Have things to keep the family busy such as board games, coloring books, books, and craft projects.

8.Stay inside.

9.Turn off heat in the rooms where no one is hanging out.

10.Cover up any space underneath doors so cool air doesn’t come in.

I hear that there are still people on SI that are without power from Sandy.  I donated to the NAR collection for the relief fund at the National Convention.  I wish there was more I could do.

Robert - I am so glad we don't have to worry about blizzards in AZ!  Don't forget to bring your pets inside; too cold for us is too cold for them!
