North Quincy borders Boston's Dorchester section. There is a T Station in North Quincy with Red Line access to Boston, and easy highway access, making this area very popular with commuters. North Quincy also borders Milton and the Wollaston and Squantum sections of Quincy. Wollaston Beach is actually partly in North Quincy.
Back in the early 1800's, there was a horse racing track in the North Quincy section that was owned by the Jockey Club of Boston.
In the 1960's the State Street office park was built on what used to be marshland. The T Station was built in the 1970's to service the growing number of commuters to the State Street Complex.
North Quincy was actually one of the last areas of Quincy to be developed. Today, it is a mix of residential, single family, multi unit and condominiums, and Idustrial and Retail.
North Quincy has been a popular spot for Quincy's growing Asian population, because of it's T Station and easy highway access.
One of Quincy's two High Schools and one of three of Quincy's golf courses are located in North Quincy, as well as, The Best Western Adams Inn hotel, right on the banks of the Neponsit River.
North Quincy's center area used to be referred to as Norfolk Downs. There are also the Atlantic and the Montclair sections of Nort Quincy
