I too have worn glasses since 3rd grade before getting my first contact lenses in 9th grade. It changed my life and I became one of the popular girls. Now, I still wear contact lenses but also reading glasses when I am working on the computer or reading a book. Your eyes do change over time and I guess we have to just flow with the changes. Life is still good.

Deborah, think of the glasses as a fashion accessory, at least that is what I tell myself!

You know Deborah, glasses are actually very stylish, and less trouble than contact lenses.  Also, I truly believe that the small font sizes we are glued to daily is destroying our collective eyesight.  Good luck with the new eyes.

I hear ya girlfriend.  I have to wear glasses for distance.  I take them off to look at menus and eat or read.  Now they are saying the computer is straining my eyes, so I got some new "working on the computer" glasses.  they have fancy flowers on the side.  Hey if I have to be a four eyes, at least I can have fun.  Its all good. 

I have to keep several pair of readers around the house, in the car, and in my purse. I am always misplacing them, and I can't see anything close up without them. I like to have lots of spares!

Good luck with the testing Deborah, change can be frustrating at times. You will be fine either way.  :)

Well nowadays, glasses have become a fashion statement, so look at it that way.

Debbie, I,too,  have noticed more and more trips to the optomotrist with stronger and stronger glasses.  Oh well, at least I can be sure I'm keeping up with fashion, LOL.

Deborah   Sarah Palin move over!  I started with 4 eyes in the 6th grade.  When I turned 50 I had Lasik eye surgery.  That was about the time of life when I was going to start with reading glasses.  The surgery guaranteed reading glasses and I have several pairs.  But, I don't have to put on glasses to get out of bed or answer the phone.  Did I say Move over, Sarah?  Enjoy the day!
