South Quincy

The  South Quincy section borders Braintree. South Quincy has easy access to all major routes, as well as the Quincy Adams T Station with Red Line service to Boston.

South Quincy is home to the Crown Colony Office Park, which is the site of a former stone crusher. The new Marriott Hotel was added about 5 years ago. This office park is right off the expressway making for an easy commute. The park is tastefully designed with small ponds, etc.

South Quincy's Centre Street used to be lined with Monument Companies. Years ago they would get their Granite Right from the Quincy Quarries. Most of the companies have vanished, but there are still a couple remaining.

Many Italians came to the area back when the Granite and Shipbuilding Industries were in full swing in Quincy and remained afterward making Quincy their home. South Quincy has long been a community full of pride. Every year in September, the Italian Festival is held at Malnati's Block on Liberty Street. The neighborhood is blocked off. There is plenty of food, and people who have left the area even return for this event.

South Quincy is a mix of residential single family, multi unit and condos, as well as Industrial sites. It is an older neighborhood with many of the homes having granite foundations which came from the Quincy Quarries.

Penns Hill is a section of South Quincy bordering Braintree.
