Contrary to popular belief, writing is G-d given talent, and G-d isn’t really generous with it. I assume this popular belief is because, technically, we all can write.
We all have our little talents, but then there are a few people who are blessed.
Contrary to popular belief (here I go again – LOL), talented people are not always really popular. How many of us are reading everyday crap, but haven’t read literary masterpieces since school or college?
The ability to rhythm, or to write is a technical skill. Poetry is when the words magically create that new something, which does not exist if you change the order of those words… Poetry is not in the words, it is in what these words create… Same with prose.
We all can describe things, and even do it very well, but using words to create the new world, the new reality is a sign of a Master.
There are few Masters on AR. We had more, but they are no longer active. I do not see Andrew Lenza, Paul Slaybaugh, and some others. Inna Hardison hasn’t posted in a long while and I regret it more as a reader than even as a father…
I ran into a post by the Master the other day. Bill Cherry besides professional stuff writes extraordinary pieces.
This is reading at its best, like expensive champagne and rich Belgium chocolate for the soul…
All this champagne and chocolate only for me?
Go and read Bill Cherry, subscribe to him. Tell him how you love these gems that he creates, because I have no doubt you would love them when you read them. Get the chocolate, and tell your friends about the champagne and chocolate Master.
His name is Bill Cherry, and he is an excellent storyteller
