Ethics Gone By The wayside!

Real Estate Agent with Remax Connection

I have been a full time Realtor for 13 years and in this changing market what I see is much desperation in both top producers and newcomers.

Its sad that there is no respect or that agents now leave listings active when their under contract, ignore calls, negotiate with attitudes, solicite other agents active listings, charge bogus admin fees, and so the list goes on. We pay for a Board of Realtors but get little to no assistance. We pay for an Mls system that doesn't monitor the system. We pay for State and National Boards but are really on our own.

I know this. I do business the right way!  I can sleep at night!  I have past clients that refer me!  At times my frustration with this business and the lack of support saddens me but now I will motivate myself once again, kick a$&! And hope that our cooperating competitors will do things the right way to fulfill their livlihood!

Well said.  When the market is down you see the try colours of a person under financial pressures.  I have a friend that is an experienced agent and recently relocated to a new city.  When she called for showing instructions agents did not return any of her calls.  She told a fiend of hers who is well known in the area and when the friend called the agents gave up the information for showing instructions.   This is very sad.

I suggested your post because it is, sometimes, true.  I've been licensed for about as many years as you (14 years) and all you can do is what you're doing.  Keep it honest, and real. As the old saying goes:  "Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe!"

I agree with Carla! Do it it the right way, the way you were taught and don't become one of them...

If Realtors were ethical, there would be no need for a "NAR Code of Ethics".

We have a small board (55 agents). We seldom have problems and when we do, we show them the curb.

Sadly it's just a comment on the times we live in. After all we have the goofballs in Washington as examples of how things are done now. Sad, sad, sad.
