Carlsbad Flower Fields Open March 1, 2013 in Carlsbad California

The famed Flower Fields in Carlsbad CA will be opening in just 2 weeks.

The Flower Fields in Carlsbad CaliforniaThis very popular Carlsbad tourist attraction offers 50 acres of extraordinary color changing daily.

The fields have shifted from brown to green and are about ready to burst with multitudes of color.

The Flower Fields are only open for a couple of months each year, in 2013 from March 1 until May 12, and it’s an amazing opportunity to see an amazing collection of flowers (ranunculas) on a hillside overlooking the ocean.

Here’s a hint of what you can also see and experience at The Flower Fields…

 ·        There is a large rose garden with over 170 varieties of roses plus a miniature rose garden, among other attractions. Group tours are available, too.

·        Attend  special events (Kids Day, Zydeco Day, Jazz Day) or host your own

·        School tours and programs

·        Gardening workshops

You can enjoy walking or take a tractor tour to really appreciate the beauty of The Flower Fields.

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are readily visible from the I-5 Freeway (no gawking while you drive) and are easy to spot, located at the Palomar Road Exit at 5704 Paseo del Norte (look for the windmill).

Here are the driving directions.

Another great vantage point, looking down on the fields with the Carlsbad windmill and 180 degree views of the ocean, is from Armada Drive (off Palomar Airport Road just to the east or from Cannon to the South).

You can purchase tickets on the Flower Fields website.

The photos are amazing and exciting.  They remind me of the images of the tulip fields in Holland.

Jeff, the Carlsbad Flower Fields are an amazing sight. I had the same thought as Lenn (#6). Reminded me of the tulip fields in Holland.

I have driven by there many times when taking Palomar Airport Road over to the outlet mall.  The flowers really are amazing and a great example of what makes Carlsbad such a nice place to live.

Hello Jeff:  This is a great local attraction worth peoples attention.  This reminds me of the Texas wild flowers we see all over the state.

It has been years since I have been in the vicinity of the Carlsbad flower fields.  I enjoy the colored stripes the fields provide.

I would like to take the tractor ride.

We have the largest public tulip gardens in North America...Sherwood Gardens. I will have to take some photos again when they are in bloom.
