Why isn't "Blog", "Blogger" or "Blogging" in the spell check system yet?

Have you ever stopped to wonder why "Blog", "Blogging" or "Blogger" isn't in the spell check system yet?

With the increase of these three words being used daily and becoming common words it amazes me that they haven't made the cut into the system.

Maybe, just a personal thing for me, but every time I do spell check with the hopes of getting a "No Misspellings Found" report, poof, there's that little red squiggly line under those three words. No gold star, no smiley face on my spelling test. Dang!

Maybe someday I will arrive at a perfect spell check.

It is a little irritating that it keeps popping up on the spellchecker.

Especially on a blogging website like Active Rain.  You would think they could at least get the AR spell check to recognize it as a word.

Ray, did the spell check come up red on the words? Seems like these are household (at least business) words now days, that they would be there.

Jackie, hopefully the ages have the answer. It's not a big thing, but still confusing. I wonder who actually has the right or the job title to add it into dictionaries and spell check?

I figured with the Active Rain Family we can make the drive to get it done, then we can all have bragging rights for getting it into the history books. :-)

Yes I agree. Blogging has been around long enough to be recognized. I think the system needs an adjustment.

There are quite a few words that need to be added - all having come about as a result of our use of the Internet. I think that's really cool but, like you, can't wait until the "dictionaries" are updated!

Kay, thanks for stopping by. As of this morning there is no change in the spell check. I'm wondering who would be the contact person at Active Rain to check on this? Maybe Active Rain could be the first to implement this change, and the world would follow.

I've also seen this one. I got a great laugh when a blogging system didn't know how to spell its own function. The system is missing a few proper spellings for a few real estate terms.

Geoff, I've been hoping now the Brad Anderson is part of Active Rain that he will get them to be the leaders and add these to the Active Rain spell check system. I don't think I have encountered a spell check system that has them in the system yet. Someone has to be first I figure why not Active Rain. I get a chuckle on this as well with the words being so common.
