Mobile Apps for Home Buyers and Sellers

As a Realtor, I rely heavily upon my mobile computing devices such as my iPad and iPhone.  There are great apps that greatly increase my efficiency and productivity.

There are also some great “must have” apps that I recommend to my clients.

The first app I always recommend is a good home search app such as the REMAX.com and Realtor.com app – both allow clients to search available homes for sale right from their phone.  Both apps automatically show you nearby homes for sale – just open the app and search and you can have instant access to pictures, data, virtual tours and more.  These apps also have mortgage calculators which will give you a rough idea about your cost for a particular home.

Other great apps are greatschools.org.  This app lets you search nearby schools to find out enrollment numbers, how a school ranks, and more.  Other good apps are:

·      CamScanner – Use this tool to snap a picture of a document and quickly convert it to a stored PDF that can be emailed from your phone.

·      Color Snap – See a color you like in a home, snap a picture and it will tell you the closest Sherwin Williams paint.

·      Dictionary of Real Estate Terms – A quick resource to the meaning of real estate terms.

·      Around Me – With the push of a button find out the closets shopping, police stations, and more.

·      Offender Search – Find out if there are any registered sex offenders nearby.

·      SkyDrive – A great online storage tool from Microsoft that lets you store all of your computer files online and access from your SmartPhone or mobile tablet.  Google has a similar tool called GDrive.

·      Sound Level – Test the decibel ratings of a nearby highway.
