The Second Annual "Be The Star Of Your Own Movie" Contest...With a Twist!
While my communication skills are generally pretty good, tired, with a full brain, and reading comprehension do not mix.
This and last years' contests both inspired me, but for some reason I did not fully grasp the options, so just wrote a regular post about a famous movie, and my job. Well guess what, turns out that works! Just for the fun of it, just to show off your creative side, and OHYES just for the points of it, too!
Only unless you want to be entered in one of the three 'Best' categories do you have to include anything else....so 10 days left, ARers! Last years contest was so much fun, reading through all the responses, this one is shaping up the same way. Don't miss out!

With a Twist!

Since we all had so much fun last year with the "Be The Star Of Your Own Movie" Contest, we thought we would do it again, but this year.....with a twist.
Instead of just picking your favorite movie title and writing a post about how the plot or title of the movie could relate to you or your business, we have a new format. Instead of picking three winners, there will be three categories:
Best Movie
Best Actress
Best Actor
All entries for Best Movie must include a video or slide presentation whether you star in the movie or not. You can choose your own cast or use none at all, as long as the movie relates to your field, whether you are a real estate agent, lender, inspector, home stager, etc. etc. etc.
The entries for Best Actress and Best Actor are not required to include a video, but photos of some sort are required. You choose the character you will play in the movie. Any entry written by a female will be put into the Best Actress category. Entries written by a male will be put into the Best Actor category.
Here is an example of what we are looking for as far as entries for the contest. Take the movie classic "All About Eve", it is a story of ambition and betrayal. Have you worked with someone like Eve Harrington? Maybe you've dealt with Margo Channing. Have you had your own "Miracle of 34th Street"? Has something happened that made you absolutely"Psycho"? Done a deal that made you feel like the "Wizard of Oz"?
Tell us all about it.
Use your imagination and your creative writing skills.
Make sure you add a video or slide presentation to be considered for Best Movie and some photos to be considered for Best Actor or Best Actress.
Make it even more exciting and appealing to the judges.
Anything Goes , just have fun!
- The contest will run through the month of February , you can enter your post starting today. The deadline will be February 28, 2013 at Midnight EST.
- Entries submitted by February 15, 2013 by Midnight EST will be entitled to an extra 300 bonus points.
- All entries will receive 500 points for your effort and participation, in addition to the usual points you get for posting.
- All entries must be a minimum of 200 words not to exceed 500 words. Give or take!
- One entry per ActiveRain Member.
- In the comment section of this post, leave a link to your entry so the judges have access to them all from one place.
- The Best Movie Winner will receive 2000 points.
- The Best Actress Winner will receive 1500 points.
- The Best Actor Winner will receive 1500 points.
There will be three nominees in each category.
The nominees will all be posted before the winners are announced.
The nominees that do not win in their particular catergory will receive 300 bonus points for their nomination.
