Friend and past client Anthony Ameen was honored and was also the guest speaker at the Service Appreciation dinner last night at the Ahwatukee Foothills Golf Club for his service as a Navy hospital corpsman in Afghanistan.
In 2008 he was wounded in a Tailban ambush when he stepped on a mine while rushing to a wounded Marine. He lost his lower left leg and endured more than 30 surgeries to save his right leg and reconstruct his left hand. He started Wings for Warriors in 2010 to help other wounded Afghanistan and Iraq veterans transition to civilian life, and offer assistance to ensure they received adequate health care and the financial benefits due to them. Anthony and his brother, Aaron, grew up next door to us, so we have always felt close to him and his family. We are so proud of what he is doing with Wings for Warriors and would encourage all of you to go to www.WingsForWarriors.org to learn more about the organization and how you can donate!
