Was it snowing on 10th Street today?

snow prep

Tool kit - check, Car brush - check, Ladder - check, Snowshoes - check

10th Street    Do it!

This was todays job, at a lull in the wind,       and this is how I dealt with it.

So, yes it was snowing. It was what a New Englander would call a sou'wester: gusting, drifting blowing snow, in your face, weather.

I'm prepared for it. It's not like it was going to be a suprise. It's winter. It's just going to be there.

I even have a second pair for my clients who want to follow the inspection. Something I encourage all my clients to do when they can.

prep for inspection

If you are a professional you are prepared for all conditions.

Love the snowshoes - we almost needed them here, today!!!  Robert, I'm sure that being prepared for your line of work is of the utmost importance and it looks like you are there!!!

We also could use snowshoes here tomorrow but I don't know that anyone carries them.  We just use boots here.

I was at a home inspection on Monday and we trudged around through the snow.  I didn't have to use snow shoes but I did have my snow boots on!

You certainly are prepared.  I went on a septic inpsection in the winter several years ago and the inspector brought a jack hammer to get through the frozen ground!

I might have to get a pair of those. They seem to work pretty good for you.

Robert:  I haven't seen snow this depth since... ummm... last week.  LOL.  Just east of Cleveland, Ohio here in what we call the "snow belt."  Lots of snow blowing in off Lake Erie.  And yes... it's really, really cold!

By the way... I've been to Quebec City four times... but not in quite a while.  The first time was in October of 1985... and then I've been back three times since then.  What a beautiful city.

We don't have much snow this winter. It's a very mild winter here in Eugene-Portland area, and yesterday was warm and sunny as if it were late spring!

I have to say I have never worn a pair of snow shoes.  My clients would be out of luck!  I do have some gaiters that go up to the knee!

Those look fun!  I'm amazed and some of the equipment I've seen home inspectors carry.  I'm a huge fan of those ladders too.  Very cool!

Robert, that's what I call being prepared for anything that may come up during an inspection.

Thanks everybody for your comments and interest. Those enjoying good weather count you blessings. For those not, well I know what it's like. I only breakout the snowshoes when the snow is thigh to hip deep.

Robert, We had a very mild winter here in the NW. Had to go to the mountain for snow of any depth. I put on my snow boots only a few time this year.

Just imagine what it must be like for short-legged dogs, like basset hounds and those poor little weiner dogs... LOL.

The right tool at the right time Lenn.

The secret is layers Melissa at those areas where you feel the chill.

Scott we may be hardened to it but most would trade to warmer anyday.

Ed snowshoes will work,'mush' not so much.

'Be prepared' can be applied anywhere with sucess Juli.

Lawrence, boots are good right up untill the snow is deeper. you soon find out how deep.

Christine we call that much snow a sprinkle.

Hi Joan, thats extrem prep, but its what he had to do.

Laura have fun, avoid backing up.

Rob they work well . Can walk any where, right over the snow drifts but fence gates can be a challenge.

Hi Tom, I have them because I need them. when I did'nt have them I knew it.

Carolyn you must be well aguainted with snow and Quebec City is a gem.

Wika, stop! . Stop complaining, go to the light white, head up hill.

Yeah Jay I don't know how you can stand it. Wet knees, ugh! :)

Those ladders are cool but be sure the locks are engaged. (Christiansens)

Michael I'm sure you'll agree, it's not good to not be prepared.

Richie their report open up the west like an inspectors open the house to you.

Karen I think that's where the idea for skiing came from.

It's been a long time since I have worn snow shoes Robert. You have a lot in common with the U.S. postal service.

Sadly Malcolm that quote no longer applies to the US Postal service anymore. The Canadian gave up the ghost long ago.

I'll be back out on them again today, with my client. His wife wants pictures.
