Online marketing is constantly evolving and here at RealSupport Inc, our team of Real Estate Virtual Assistants are focused on staying on top of what’s new, what works and how to implement these tools for our clients.

It’s been a great start to 2013 and we are looking forward to working with our loyal clients and the new clients we’ll meet throughout the year!  While we do cover print marketing and other tasks for our clients, the heart of our company is online marketing.  Our world today is becoming more and more integrated online and we’re excited about where we’re headed!

In keeping with our goal to provide real estate industry professionals with the latest tips and marketing advice, we wanted to share with you what’s in store for 2013.  Recently, online marketing expert and vice president of SEOmoz, Joanna Lord, came out with an article on the 10 Online Marketing Trends for 2013.  We wanted to highlight four of our favorites below that we tweaked to relate to the real estate industry.

Here’s what you can expect from online marketing this year.

1. A surge in 'second screen' value- ‘Second screen’ refers to mobile devices.  More than 75% of the world has access to mobile devices, so staying up to date with what you’re offering clients on the go is imperative.

2012 focused on creating a mobile version of your website, and this year will take it a step further: mobile apps.  And, while you may not create a specific one for your personal business, you’ll want to connect clients to mobile apps from either your brokerage or real estate websites such as Trulia or Zillow.  You’ll want to ask yourself the question, “What value can my brand offer a mobile user?”

2. An increased focus on 'inbound marketing'- This new type of marketing refers to creating content, conversations and valuable resources that draw clients into your services and website.  In the past, spending money on marketing resources such as post cards, magazine and newspaper ads and signage was king.

Now, money is being spent to build up online content, blogging, social media and web design. Creating a solid online presence that “wows” your audience draws them in to engage with your brand online.  This is where your Real Estate Virtual Assistant comes in!  You’re handing the marketing reigns over to your REVA who specializes in social media, blogging and web design, and it’s money well spent in today’s online market.

3. Brands as social influencers-  Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social platforms have given brands a following that allows them to be social influencers.  Real Estate industry professionals are given the ability to continue to grow their community and be seen as a trustworthy voice on things pertaining to real estate, home trends and their community.

Questions to ask yourself include: “Where are we participating?” and “What value are we offering?”  Engage in as many platforms as possible and, if you aren’t sure where to start or don’t have the time; talk with your Real Estate Virtual Assistant!

4. Design is king- This correlates with inbound marketing in creating eye catching branding and visualizations of pertinent content. Joanna Lord notes that, “Beautiful design has never been so affordable and in demand.”  She goes on to say that, “To stand out in 2013, strengthen your in-house resources or contract a team to get your website design up-to-speed.”

Again, this stresses the importance of your online branding and gives you insight as to the most effective way to spend your marketing budget this year.

If you have questions about your online presence, we would love the opportunity to talk with you!  Our team of Real Estate Virtual Assistants are here to give you the guidance needed and help you determine your online marketing needs.

We look forward to working with you this year!
