Hard Work?? Let's Look at the President's Schedule

Earlier this week I wrote a blog about a startegic plannign that client that literally spent 7 hours on personal matters in a day ands she mentioned how "hard"  she worked that day. None of her "hard" work had anything to do with her profession.  I ws speaking with a retiree today. She lamented that most worlers do not work hard today. She mentioned, "Why should anyone work hard when the President does not work hard".

I asked her what she was referring to. She indicated that there was a commentator that indicated that the President has a soft schedule. She asked if I knew how to verify the schedule. I said, "Sure, it on the White House website"...so, I took a look at the entire week and I was horrified.

Here is the scehdule for Thursday, Febraury 21, 2013:

10:15 AM
The President and the Vice President receive the Presidential Daily Briefing
Oval Office
Closed Press
11:00 AM
The President and the Vice President attend the Democratic Governors Association Meeting
Eisenhower Executive Office Building
Closed Press
11:30 AM
Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jay Carney
12:15 PM
The President holds a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan; the Vice President also attends
Oval Office
Pool Spray at the Bottom
1:15 PM
The President and the Vice President have lunch with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan
Cabinet Room
Closed Press

I hate to say it but this istypical of every day that I reviewed. This is the entire day. So much going on in this country and abroad and this is a typical day...small wonder that the government has no solutions to our problems.  Just sayin'

Tough job.  No wonder he needs to play so much golf.  A top producing real estate agent could run this country

I'm sure there's more to it than this.  If you've ever read bios on Presidents their days never truly end.  That's why most of them age so much before our very eyes. The travelling alone would wipe most people out.  Best of luck to you.

Jerry I understand and agree with that...but here is my probelm...we are facing a debt and deficit crisis, unemployment, international strife everywhere and the only things tht get addressed are social issues that in the grand scheme of things..are not pressing.  Don't forget , this IS the official schedule...

Paddy: I am on your team here--there is so much time wasting with this man. One would think his conscience would bother him for NOT being Hands-on where our real problems lie...there is that word too--he lies and that is what lets him get by with his non-involvement!
