For those who aren't familiar with Boonsboro, it is an amazing little town. Before we sold our old house, Boonsboro was our closest "town" i.e. place to pick up take-out and groceries. I loved the Boonsboro Produce Market and was devastated when it closed. Maybe it was the small aisles, the ice cream selection (Black raspberry and chocolate marshmallow), or the fact that I could point to a steak and tell the butcher "I want THAT one" and he'd wrap it up all nice and snug in paper, well I just adored that place. Ah, the memories.
In some ways Boonsboro has stayed the same over the years, but of course progress has come to town. A Weis Market was built 6 or 7 years ago. The Inn BoonsBoro was opened in 2009 by Nora Roberts, New York Times bestselling author, and her husband (who owns owns Turn the Page Bookstore and Café directly across the street). But in other ways it's the same old charming town. You still can't get through town in under an hour on Boonesborough Days, so if its the weekend after Labor Day, FIND ANOTHER WAY!
Loocated between Hagerstown and Frederick on Alt-U.S. 40, it is also fairly convenient to hop on 340 to get into Charlestown WV or Frederick. It's the perfect mix of small town feel, with extended shopping and dining available just a short drive away. Homes range from old farms, historic homes, all the way to new construction. Home prices in the area range greatly, starting below $100,000 for those that may need a little TLC, rising up to well over a million.
