18th Annual Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown March 3, 2013

On Sunday March 3, 2013 participating area attractions will open their doors to New Hanover County NC residents FREE of charge! FREE! Be sure to put fresh batteries in the camera and wear your walkin' shoes -- 'cause there's lots to see and do in our Hometown!

The goal here folks is two-fold; Area attractions get to say "thank you" to all you locals who visit year round and you get a chance to explore, re-new your appreciation for our wonderful area and hopefully become a Tourism Ambassador for Wilmington NC and our surrounding beaches.

The list of participating area attractions is long and varied and you'll want to check it out as some require advance registration. Below is an abbreviated list, you can see the entire one here.

Airlie Gardens. 9a ~ 5p

Bellamy Mansion Museum House. 1p ~ 4p Take a FREE tour of the Bellamy Mansion

Cameron Art Museum. 10a ~ 5p

Cape Fear Museum of History and Science. 1p ~ 5p. This is ALWAYS a favorite stop for us!

Haunted Cotton Exchange Tour. 10a. Limited to 50 people, so get there early!

Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park. 1p ~ 4p. Offering a choice of one (1) of the following: 1 game of Jungle Golf -OR- 1 free Grand Prix go-kart ride -OR- 1 free Sky Tower ride.

Tour Old Wilmington History Walking Tours. 1p AND 2p.

I can't imagine why everyone in New Hanover County NC wouldn't take advantage of this "most awesome" opportunity to explore our wonderful community!! Hope to see you on the 3rd!
