SEO is one segment of commerce in which success spreads like wildifre. When a certain technique is found to be effective, everyone jumps on the band wagon and copies the technique.
I attended Bob Stewart's class on AR in regard to Blogging and SEO rankings., One of the many things that he said is something that I have been preaching for years. When you hear someone claim that they are an SEO 'expert", run, run, run. The reason is that SEO is a moving target. It changes constantly and the algorithms (a huge part of my scientific world) change constantly. It is an exercise in futility to try and determine what they exact algorithms are because there are too many variables and the algorithms will change anyway.
I like Bob's approach. He back tests things to see what is getting the highest rankings on Google and then he knows what is working and what is not working. This is not an exact science either as there are anomolies that are not reflective of results, but it is a pretty good indicator of what "may" work and what "may" not work. He utlizes micro focused parameters such as condo prices in a subdivision within a community. This means that even subtle changes in the blog will be reflected in Google page rankings.
If you have not had the opportunity to view Bob's classes, they are worth the time. They are geared for agents and I am not an agent, but I still derive benefit from them and agents ABSOLUTELY will!!
