We all dream of the perfect spot for retirement, and it's fun to look at Internet homes for sale during those moments. But it's a far cry to do all this in your head, with only photos of homes and pretty pictures of the scenery.
THAT'S NOT ENOUGH.
With my IDX so prominent on several websites, some of the emails that come in are from these dreamers.
AND THIS IS WHAT I TELL THEM.
"You absolutely must come here, look around, see if you like our community and everything that it has to offer."
For some potential retirees, Del Norte County in California is perfect:
1. It's a beautiful area close to the ocean, tall Redwood trees, national and regional parks, and the Smith River.
2. We are quite remote from BIG cities, which means clean air and relatively little traffic.
3. Crescent City has a regional airport with direct flights to San Francisco.
4. Highway 101 all the way from San Diego to the Oregon border and up to Canada, goes straight through Crescent City.
5. Interstate Highway 5 that also runs all the way from Canada to the Mexican border, is 88 miles inland, it's closest point to Crescent City. You turn west at Grants Pass, Oregon to get to us along Highway 199.
SO YOU SEE, WE ARE NOT ISOLATED, JUST SOMEWHAT REMOTE.
But this is also the charm of Crescent City in Del Norte County, California. So come for a visit and see how you like it here.
CRESCENT CITY IS THE SEAT OF THE COUNTY
That means all the services are here from a Social Security office, DMV, Sutter Coast Hospital and a senior center even though we are a small community of about 20,000.
COME FOR A VISIT, THEN YOU CAN MAKE UP YOUR MIND IF YOU WANT TO RETIRE HERE.
And once you have made this big life decision, give me a call. I will be happy to help you find your new home here in Crescent City, Del Norte County, California.
