BOA Sent Me the Trial Loan Modification Papers Today!

Real Estate Agent with William Raveis Real Estate RES.0772823

Dear AR Friends,

Imagine my surprise when the doorbell rang and I found a FedEx package from BOA today!  Inside were the documents to sign for a three month trial modification.  For those of you familiar with loan modifications, the permanent loan modification and terms aren't provided until you successfully make the payments three months in a row on the trial modification.

Thank you all for your help.  This would not have happened if the AR community had not stood behind me and reblogged, Tweeted, Liked, and Google Plussed my story.  Your social media reach is extraordinary and can move mountains!  Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to help us.

I also want to thank BOA for responding and moving on this so fast.  I am lucky to have so many social media savvy friends and I feel bad for those who don't.  I have heard so many sad stories from  others who tried to get loan modifications and met with the same frustrations I experienced.  I wish there was a way to get help for everyone.  My heart goes out to all who shared their stories with me.

My husband's birthday is tomorrow.  This was the best gift he could have had.  He was so worried that we would lose our home.  It put a smile on his face and I could see he felt relieved.

My husband is unfortunately fighting for his life right now in the hospital.   They are giving him blood transfusions, antibiotics, and much more, but we need another miracle.  It will be three years ago tomorrow that he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  Any prayers you can send his way would be appreciated. (That's his photo.)

Thank you again for putting a smile on my husband's face today with the loan modification.  To me my AR family isn't just a figure of speech.  I feel supported and cared for by you just as if you were family members.   When I joined AR, I could never have imagined that this community would come together and provide real practical tangible help in my time of need.  AR is an amazing and beautiful community.  I hope it always stays this pure in heart and intention.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

With tremendous gratitude,

Bill was much better today although they still haven't located the source of his infection.  He sat up in a chair for five hours and ate three good meals for the first time in almost a week.  We celebrated his birthday with one of his granddaughters and her husband.  It was a nice surprise as he hasn't seen her since last fall.  Five members of the Infectious Disease team came in asking for cake.  We joked around with them.

So many members of the Yale New Haven staff just stop by to say hi to Bill.  They really enjoy talking to him.  I swear Bill can discourse on any subject.  He reads constantly on many different topics and can carry on a conversation about just about anything.

I spent most of the day there with Bill and I had a good time as well.  It's a real community there just like AR.  Thank you for your prayers.  He was pretty close to the edge when he arrived at the hospital with a massive infection and one kidney shutting down.  It could have had a real bad ending, but now it looks like he will be coming home by the weekend.  I really do think your prayers made a difference.  Thank you.

I don't think for a second that any of us had a clue as to the family we joined, when we joined ActiveRain.

And as far as the Google +'s, the likes, the tweets and re-blogs,  I think I can speak for all of us here.  For us it was only a moment, for you it was life.  God bless you Gail.  And may God wrap his healing arms around you both to heal and ease the pain.

Hi Gail,

I was just pressing the "send" button on an email because I hadn't seen you post recently and I was worried.  I wanted to know how your husband was and how the loan modification was doing!  Then I realized I hadn't been on AR for a couple of days, so I decided to check your blog first.  Like Dagny, I am glad that part of the story is good. I will be praying for another miracle so that you have more time with your wonderful husband.

This is an example of why we are so angry at the banks.  It is also an example of how they CAN and SHOULD be performing on a regular basis.  Seriously, it shouldn't take hundreds of reblogs, tweets Google+'s FB rantings for them to do the right thing and the logical thing.  But I'm glad the BOA  saw the light and made a good decision.

Looks like another week before Bill will be coming home.  They still haven't found the source of his infection, but he's now on a very strong antibiotic that they just started yesterday and it has a ten day course.  It can only be administered by IV.  I was exhausted and slept until 9:30 AM today.  I got caught up on work and ran errands.

I will make the first loan modification payment by phone tomorrow!  What an enormous relief.  Sometimes you don't realize how heavy the load is that you are carrying until you set it down.

I'm glad you and your husband are celebrating his birthday and that good news traveled fast enough, thanks to your AR support. I know you're going through a lot in your life and I will think of you and your family in my prayers. It's been a long and courageous road. It's about time you got some good news and I pray for more.

Thanks to Rebecca for the re-blog. She's definitely an angel in the Rain!

Gail~what a handsome fella! Three years with Pancreatic cancer?  Wow, you don't hear that very often. Prayers and his will are certainly making a difference. Those heavy duty antibiotics are tough on a compromised system, I hope that he's getting sleep and nourishment--two that are hard to come by when you're in that state.

I was one of the many re-bloggers who is certainly glad to hear that BOA stepped up--FINALLY. See what public embarrassment can create?! I only wish that Wells Fargo would listen up and learn from this.

Too big to fail?  I hope that they don't think so. You've certainly put them on notice to eat some humble pie. And all of your AR family is happy to serve them up some more of that!!

Hi Gail,

thinking about you today and figured I would come over and check out how you are doing. I for one appreciate that you update your blog so we know what is happening. As for Bank of America, I hear so many bad things but everythime I have sent them an email, I have had not only an immediate response, but they make things happen and then send a follow up letter.  It's too bad we only hear the bad things, so I am thriled to find out that you have received that paperwork!   I hope your husband can come through all this. Miracles can happen! Take care!

Thank you all for your prayers and support.  My husband is still in the hospital, but is expected to return home.  He will need to go to a short-term stay facility first for physical therapy as he went through a lot at the hospital and is weak.  Thank you so much!  BTW, I made my first trial loan modification payment!
